Rheumatoid Arthritis

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory condition affecting many of your body systems, including your joints, eyes, heart, lungs, blood vessels and skin.
The condition occurs when your body’s immune system attacks your own tissues of your body by mistake. Unlike osteoarthritis wear-and-tear damage, RA affects the lining of your joints and causes painful inflammation which can eventually lead to joint deformity and bone erosion.

While RA mostly affects your joints, it can also affect your skin causing rheumatoid arthritis nodules and skin boils.
